Recycling: New Challenges and New Professional Opportunities

The Project was aimed at: fostering the establishment and promotion of a vocational education system in the fast-growing and relevant sector of waste recycling through the application of international experience and the introduction of Best Practices.

Project objectives were as follows:

(1) To create new educational programs and materials and ensure their accessibility, including adults, on the basis of needs of recycling industry in Georgia; (2) To promote vocational education among young people and increase its attractiveness; (3) To motivate girls and disabled persons to be interested in the recycling field for vocational education, and createemployment opportunities by training beneficiariesin the manufacturing of consumer articles from waste; (4) To create and implement flexible training courses for employees in the wastemanagement field for the purpose of their professional development and introducing modern approaches in this field; (5) To facilitate the dissemination of vocational education and international experience in career development in the recycling field; (6)To ensure the replication and sustainability of the project’s results.

The project “Recycling: New Challenges and New Professional Opportunities” financed under the small grants scheme of Industry-led Skills and Workforce Development (ISWD) project of the Millennium Challenge Account-Georgia funded under the second Compact between the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Government of Georgia.
