The Center of Ecological Education for children was created in the Sataplia Nature Reserve. Ecological trails were established and a training room was equipped for educational meetings. Professional painters made identification plates with the names of trees and animals in the reserve. Once the room was prepared, it was inaugurated with training sessions on the fundamentals of ecology for students from five primary schools in Kutaisi.
A conference on ecology was held for the students in the second, third and fourth forms. The participants of the conference received certificates and memorable gifts. A second conference was held for teachers of primary students and a booklet with reports from the conference was distributed. Finally, an exhibition of children’s pictures devoted to the protection of the environment was presented on 1 June 1998, International Children’s Day. The students from the benefactor school composed and performed a song for the project.
