In order to protect the rights of residents in the industrial cities of Bolnisi, Tkibuli, and Kutaisi, Spectri worked with Regional Civil Society Network (R-CSN) member organizations to ensure public participation in development, implementation and monitoring of the Local Environmental Action Plans (LEAP).
Stakeholders were engaged in development of the LEAP for Bolnisi, and a hearing and approval of the document at Bolnisi Sakrebulo was initiated.
In Tkibuli, the implementation of initial actions identified in a recently approved LEAP for Tkibuli was monitored.
In Kutaisi, the LEAP plan was monitored and updated by engaged stakeholders. A waste management plan was updated and submitted to relevant government agencies for further action.
